PENGARUH SECONDARY SKIN PADA FASADE BANGUNAN TERHADAP KUALITAS CAHAYA ALAMI DAN PENGHAWAAN PADA RESTORAN BAKERY (Studi Kasus : Restoran J.Co Jatiwaringin)

This study examines the effect of applying a secondary skin to a building facade on the quality of natural light at the J.CO Donuts & Coffee restaurant in Jatiwaringin, Bekasi. Natural lighting is a crucial aspect of architectural design that directly impacts user visual comfort. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the extent to which the application of a secondary skin can control natural light intensity according to comfort standards based on SNI 6197-2020.The research method used was a quantitative approach with field observation techniques and light intensity measurements using a lux meter at several points within the restaurant space. The measurement data were then compared with the natural lighting standards set by SNI. The results showed that the application of the secondary skin on the facade was not fully optimal. The natural light intensity values at the first (489 LUX) and second (899 LUX) measurement points exceeded comfort standards, while the third point (211 LUX) almost met the established standards. The conclusion of this study indicates that the secondary skin design of the facade needs to be optimized to balance natural light intensity across the entire space. The addition of facade elements such as lattices or vines is recommended to help reduce excess light without reducing the overall quality of natural lighting

Penelitian Arsitektur Studi Kasus: Evaluasi Kenyamanan Termal dan Kebisingan pada Ruang Kerja Direktorat Perundingan ASEAN

This study evaluates thermal comfort and noise levels in the workspace of the ASEAN Negotiation Directorate at the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Indoor environmental comfort significantly affects employee productivity and health, yet it often declines due to spatial layout changes and suboptimal HVAC system performance. The research method involves direct measurements of air temperature, relative humidity, and noise levels using standard instruments, as well as the collection of employee perceptions through questionnaires. The measured data are analyzed and compared with the Indonesian National Standards (SNI 03-6572-2001 for thermal comfort and SNI 03-6386-2000 for noise comfort). The results of this study are expected to provide recommendations for improving the quality of the working environment through enhancements to the ventilation system and the acoustic design of the workspace.

MORFOLOGI KAMPUNG TEGALSARI SEBAGAI PUSAT AKTIVITAS DALAM STRUKTUR KOTA TEGAL

Kampung Tegalsari merupakan kawasan permukiman lama di pusat Kota Tegal yang berkembang secara organik dan memiliki peran penting sebagai pusat aktivitas lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik morfologi Kampung Tegalsari serta perannya dalam struktur Kota Tegal dengan pendekatan morfologi perkotaan dan Central Place Theory. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis spasial berbasis data sekunder, citra satelit, dan data statistik periode 2013–2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kampung Tegalsari memiliki jaringan jalan organik, kepadatan bangunan tinggi, serta pola penggunaan lahan campuran yang mendukung aktivitas perdagangan dan jasa skala mikro. Secara fungsional, kawasan ini berperan sebagai lower-order center yang melayani kebutuhan harian masyarakat lokal dan kawasan sekitarnya. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kampung kota sebagai elemen strategis dalam perencanaan kota berkelanjutan.

Penggunaan HPL (High Pressure Laminate) dan Batu Bata sebagai Material Ekonomis dalam Desain Interior Café Tulum Jakarta

This study examines the use of High Pressure Laminate (HPL) and exposed brick as economical materials in the interior design of Café Tulum Jakarta. The research methods include field observation, visual documentation, and literature review. The results show that HPL offers design flexibility, easy maintenance, and cost efficiency, while exposed brick provides strong visual character and reinforces local identity. The combination of these materials creates a warm, tropical, and modern atmosphere that enhances user comfort and experience. This study concludes that HPL and exposed brick are effective material solutions for achieving aesthetic, functional, and economical café interior design

EKSPLORASI NILAI VERNAKULAR PADA BANGUNAN KOLONIAL (Studi Kasus : Gedung Arsip Nasional)

Vernacular architecture represents an organic form of architecture that evolves through human adaptation to climate, environment, and local culture. In Indonesia, vernacular principles were often adopted in colonial buildings as a response to tropical climatic conditions. This study aims to identify and analyze vernacular architectural values applied in colonial architecture, using the National Archives Building in Jakarta as a case study. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through literature review, visual documentation, and secondary-based observation. The analysis refers to Paul Oliver’s (1997) theory of vernacular architecture, which outlines six principal characteristics.The findings reveal that the National Archives Building fulfills four of the six vernacular characteristics: climate responsiveness, use of local materials, natural and honest aesthetics, and efficiency and sustainability. However, local wisdom–based and participatory aspects were not identified due to the colonial construction process. This study demonstrates that colonial architecture in Indonesia reflects a hybrid adaptation rather than a purely European architectural expression.
